SHAH ALAM, 17 Mar: As we enter the tenth day since the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH370 aircraft went missing, today it has been claimed to be hidden in Diego Garcia, a United States military base in the Indian Ocean.
According to the Cabal Times portal, if speculation that the aircraft flew to the US military base in Diego Garcia is true, Indonesian radars would have certainly be able to locate the location of the aircraft.
According the news portal, if the plane had experienced a technical problem, the pilot would have been able to land safely at sea and not head back to Malaysia.
In its report, Cabal Times claimed that the US ‘hijacked’ the aircraft because MH370 was carrying a large number of people from China and the US wants to strain relations between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.
Diego Garcia as a US military base with an airstrip that allows large aircraft to land and has the facility to ‘hide’ it from satellite view.
Yesterday, the acting Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, denied claims that the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH370 aircraft has landed at the Diego Garcia US military base in the Indian Ocean.
He said so far, no one has demanded a ransom.
“No. This makes it difficult for us to confirm whether it was hijacked or is a terrorist action. We are looking at all possibilities. We will not take anything for granted,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, informed that he does not have any information about the possibility that the Malaysia Airlines aircraft flew close to the country.
When asked whether the authorities detected if the aircraft was close to Australia, as the west coast borders the Indian Ocean, Abbott said: “I have no such information.”
“But all agencies that can help are checking their data to see if there is any information that any help (us) understand this mystery,” he said, quoted from AFP.
Previously, airline officers in Pakistan and India also denied that the MH370 aircraft had entered the airspace of the two countries, and even if it had, it would have been definitely detected by military radar.
Pakistan confirmed that the country’s radar did not detect the missing MH370 aircraft, which went missing on 8 March, and is ready to share all information.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman, Tasnim Aslam, said that the Malaysian authorities have ask for assistance such as satellite and radar data that might help in finding the aircraft.
He said this after the Malaysian government announced that 2 countries are currently involved in the Search and Rescue Operations, including Pakistan.
In addition to the country, the Malaysian government has also made the same request to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, India, China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Australia.
