Naning Assemblyman Sould Resign, Investigated by MACC

The Johor Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has urged the Assemblyman of Bukit Naning, Datuk Saipolbahri Suib, to resign as a representative and to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for involvement in money politics during the party elections last November.

The Johor PKR Chief, Datuk Chua Jui Meng, said that the Johor PKR is taking this issue seriously and has instructed party members to report to the MACC so that an investigation can be carried out immediately.

“Refering to news report dated 10 February 2014, the Bakri UMNO Division Chief, Datuk Saipolbahri Suib, who is also the Assemblyman for Bukit Naning, was suspended from his membership due to his involvement in money politics during the party elections last November.

At the same time, it is also mandatory for him to resign as the Assemblyman for Bukit Naning during the investigation by MACC because money politics is a form of corruption,” he said in a statement today.

He also strictly insisted that the chronic state of money politics that is deeply rooted within UMNO will never be allowed to spread in PKR, especially ahead of the 2014 party elections, as enshrined in the laws outlined by Party Election Committee (JPP).
