KUALA LUMPUR, 4 Mar: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz today expressed confidence that the shift in power will go smoothly if BN loses in the upcoming 13th General Elections (GE-13).

According to him, this was proven when the transition of power in four states saw the collapse of BN in Selangor, Kedah, Penang and Perak in the 12th General Elections (GE-12) in 2008.

“There is no reason for BN to not accept the people’s decision.

“We realised that we were not given mandate in those states and we respect the decision of the people,” he said in front of almost 100 delegations at the Malaysian 13th General Elections International Conference here at the Royal Lake Club .

In the history of elections in Malaysia, the GE-13 which will be held soon is regarded as the elections most likely to see a change in the federal government.

However, some observers have expressed their concern that some BN supporters will not be able to accept the defeat and cause dispeace and national instability.

Prior to this, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, in his speech at the Umno General Assembly, personally called on Umno members to defend Putrajaya till the last drop of blood.
