PETALING JAYA, 26 May: Last night, PKR Vice President, Nurul Izzah Anwar urged all Malaysians to boycott pro-Umno media such as Utusan Malaysia.

According to her, the move should be done because the Umno-BN controlled media has been found to have sowed seeds of hatred and racism among the people.

“When we boycott all mainstream media, let us all go to Putrajaya and urge for the new Minister of Home Affairs to give us the licence for Utusan Rakyat (the People’s Herald) even if it cannot be used.

“We will ensure that the news is truly news for the people and not news to sow hatred,” she said in her speech during the 505 People’s Voice Assembly here at the AMcorp Mall East Field last night.

Nurul Izzah also said that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will sue the Election Commission (EC) on charges of election fraud.

Nurul Izzah who is also the Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai since 2010 planned to publish a daily newspaper titled “Utusan Rakyat” (the People’s Herald).

However, he application to receive the newspaper licence from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which was led at the time by Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein Onn, was never approved.
