SHAH ALAM, 8 Apr: The Selangor Local Authorities (PBT) have been instructed to bring down banners that insult and degrade the reputation of any individual during the 13th General Election (GE-13) campaigning period.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the Local Authorities should ensure that no acts of bringing down political party flags should be carried out unless it is installed at places that are not safe.

He said that any banners and billboards installed by roadsides that disrupt road users should also be moved to appropriate places.

“It is important for both sides to ensure that no incidents occur that could lead to a fight between supporters of political parties.

“Therefore, leaders and supporters must emphasise ethics and harmony.

“As a leader who is directly involved in this election, I want the GE-13 to be remembered as the election that determined the future.

“Not the most dirty causing embarrassment to us and generations to come,” he said a press statement.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced that Parliament was dissolved effective 3 April, to pave the way for the 13th General Elections.

Selangor State Assembly (DNS) was also officially dissolved on 4 April when the Declaration of Dissolution was signed by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in front of the Chief Minister and Members of the Royal House.
