Perak CM Office received flood donation cheque from Selangor

SHAH ALAM, 2 Jan: The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, confirmed that he has records that the Perak Chief Minister’s Office has received the flood donation cheque presented earlier this week by the Selangor government.

When asked if he was aware of the alleged refusal of the assistance, Mohamed Azmin said that he did not know anything.

“I do not know. The cheque for the Perak government has already been delivered by hand to the Office of the Perak Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir.

“The Chief Minister’s Office also confirmed the receipt of the cheque,” he told the media.

He explained that he previously ordered for the cheques to be directly handed to all state government representatives faced with flood situations.

Commenting on the allegation, he said that the matter is not a big problem and believes that the assistance will be used for the people of Perak.

At the same time, the Perak Exco, Datuk Zainol Fadzi, through Whatsapp, informed Selangor Kini that he was not informed about the rejection of the donation.

“Sorry, I did not hear about this issue,” he briefly said.

Prior to this, the Exco for Women’s Affairs and Welfare, Dr Daroyah Alwi, expressed regret on reports saying that the Perak government refused the assistance given.

The political secretary to the Perak DAP Chairman, Chong Zemin, in a statement criticised the Perak government for refusing the aid.
