Petition 25: Demand an explanation, not reject Azizah

SHAH ALAM, 7 Oct: The 25 petition from the PKR Central Leadership Council (MPP) is not to reject the leadership of the President, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Selangor Exco, Amirudin Shari, said that instead it seeks clarification about the new partnership with Pakatan Harapan.

“We want further clarification about some points in the new opposition coalition.

“This issue is important because it involves an agreement between opposition political parties in the next and future general elections for PKR itself.

“Therefore, the party leadership should discuss the matter in detail and depth. So this demand is for a meeting,” he said.

Previously, the Rembau PKR Chief, Badrul Hisham Shaharin, who was suspended, alleged that a group of senior party leaders formed a cartel to plot to overthrow Azizah.

Badrul claimed that this was because some PKR senior leaders were dissatisfied with the actions of Azizah to announce the participation of PKR in Pakatan Harapan on 22 September.

Commenting on the matter, Amirudin, who is also a MPP Member, said that Badrul’s allegation is an imagination, reported Utusan Malaysia.

“Regarding the vote of no confidence and to overthrow the PKR President, it is an imagination by people who have nothing better to do.

“We have difference of views and it is better for the differences to be brought to a meeting to find a solution,” he explained.

On October 5, the PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, also denied that there is a division in the party following the establishment of Harapan Baru.

Mohamed Azmin also pointed out that the petition signed by 25 members of the central leadership can still be discussed.
