PLUS to close reload lanes in conjunction with Deepavali

KUALA LUMPUR, OCT 11: All 134 reload lanes in PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) highway toll plazas will be temporarily closed from October 17 to 19 in conjunction with the Deepavali holidays.

PLUS General Manager, Datuk Azman Ismail said, the measure is taken to facilitate a smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion expected as a result from queues in the reload lanes.

Azman said that the reload lanes in Bukit Kayu Hitam and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar toll plazas will however stay opened.

“Highway users need to ensure their cards have sufficient balance before entering the highway or reload at the 9,200 other locations including ATM machines, 24-hours convenience stores and petrol stations at all rest areas along the highways,” he said in a statement today.

According to him, the closure of reload lanes during festivals in the past has managed to reduce congestion at toll plazas and the same approach will be taken in future festive seasons.
