SHAH ALAM, June 18: The Selangor Government wants to use a state-owned subsidiary company to help the growth of entrepreneurs in Selangor through the manufacturing of products at competitive prices.

Polens Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary company of the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) has over 20 years of operational experience in the production of food products.

The Selangor Entrepreneur Development Standing Committee Chairman, Dr Daryoah Alwi said that the factory can be used by entrepreneurs under Selangor Government programmes such as Mimbar and Skimsel to produce their products at low prices.

“Our entrepreneurs who are in small industries can benefit from the existence of the POLENS factory.

“They do not need their own factories and they can produce their products perhaps in a scale which they can afford and it can be packaged here.

“Because POLENS also has OEM, where they can provide packaging for other entrepreneurs,” said Daroyah after visiting the factory here this morning.

The factory has a variety of Goods Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications and recognition of the Halal certificate from the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (JAKIM).

The factory is a manufacturer of herbal products such as ‘misai kucing’ (Orthosiphon stamineus) and honey.

“I saw that POLENS has a lot of space and there are many opportunities for POLENS to expand further. POLENS can help partners in SMEs to go further.”
