KUALA LUMPUR, June 22: Pakatan Rakyat would have been able to receive a popular vote of 60 percent in the 13th General Election (GE-13) if it was conducted fairly and transparently, stressed PKR De Facto Leader, Anwar Ibrahim.

He slammed the Umno-BN government which is deemed to be worse than the Myanmar government for not providing adequate space for media coverage in the country.

Anwar said that is opposition towards the GE-13 results because there was fraud by the Umno-BN coalition candidates.

“This is cheating by the Malaysian Election Commission to defend the Barisan Nasional government,” Anwar said in front of 50,000 participants of the Black505 assembly which was held at Padang Merbok today.

Anwar explained that the assembly is to send a clear message to the Umno-BN government so as to abide by the demands of the people and to change the administration of the Election Commission (EC) and the election itself.

He said that the EC leadership should resign for failing to implement the use of indelible ink.

Meanwhile, Anwar reiterated Pakatan’s stand to not boycott the oath swearing ceremony for Members of Parliament in honour of the Yang Dipertuan Agong.

“We will continue to implement these changes peacefully, and we will fight until the people are enthroned in this country,” said Anwar.
