RM 20, 000 to be given away to students with the most creative video on environmental awareness

SHAH ALAM, NOV 7: Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) or Shah Alam Municipal Council is offering RM 20, 000 to the winner of the short film video competition with its theme on cleanliness and environmental care.

MBSA Corporate Department’s Deputy Director, Shahrin Ahmad says that the competition is divided into 2 categories. The first one is open to all while the second one is open to all students from public and private universities.

He said that the competition commencing from 7th November 2012 until 7th January 2013 aimed at educating the public in general so that everyone would realise the responsibility of taking good care of the cleanliness of Shah Alam city.

‘For the first category, the winner will bring home RM 5, 000 cash, followed by the first runner-up with RM 3, 000 cash, the second runner-up with RM 2, 000 cash, as well as other 5 who will receive RM 500 cash each as a consolation prize with certificates of participation for all participants.’

‘For the IPTA/IPTS category, RM 3, 000 will be given away to the winner, RM 2, 000 to the first runner-up, RM 1, 000 to the second runner-up alongside other 5 consolation prizes worth RM 300 with certificates of participation for all participants’, he said.

He further added that the rules and regulations of the competitions were, among others, the duration of the video that must not exceed 10 minutes, and that all participants were at liberty to produce a video in a form of animation, short film, or documentary, whichever best suited to their creativity.

Each video must depict commendable elements of cleanliness and that it must contain a video-formatted synopsis in the form of mpeg, he explained.
