RM3.1 million to enhance the quality of roads in Kajang

SEGAMBUT, 9 Oct: The state government will spend RM3.1 million in allocations for the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS) to resurface roads in Kajang, including 27 roads in Sungai Chua.

Kajang Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, said that the road resurfacing will be conducted in two phases.

“I took a visit just now (yesterday) to follow the developments of the MARRIS provisions uder in Kajang.

“This work involves RM1.8 million for the first phase and this second phase involved RM1.3 million involving 27 roads in Sungai Chua.

“They include Taman Desa Kekwa, Taman Kiambang which was not been resurfaced for over 15 years and has already been completed. Just now, I took a look at the quality of the resurfacing,” said Dr Wan Azizah at the special prayers for the health of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the welfare of the country.

She explained that the resurfacing of the lane in Sungai Chua was carried out as soon as the application was approved.

“40,000 square meters. The provisions spent is already RM853,747 for the second phase only.

“While for the rest, we have already applied to resurface existing lanes,” said Dr Wan Azizah.

She said that the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has also given their guarantee to monitor the quality of the resurfacing.

Apart from representatives from MPKj, also participating in the visit were several village heads.
