Selangor State Assembly Dissolved, the People Urged to Vote Wisely

KLANG, 4 Apr: The Selangor State Assembly (DNS) is officially dissolved today when the Declaration of Dissolution was signed by DYMM the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in front of the Chief Minister and Members of the Royal House who were present.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the people of Selangor will have the opportunity once again to exercise their rights and responsibility in determining the ruling government.

“The Councillors of the Selangor Government would like to express our gratitude and thanks to His Royal Highness, the Sultan, on his guidance given throughout five years of the Pakatan Rakyat Government’s administration,” said Abdul Khalid.

Abdul Khalid said that he would like to thank all civil servants in this state who have served with distinction and the cooperation they gave to him and the rest of the leadership in Selangor.

He hopes that all civil servants will continue to work with dedication despite the fact that the government today is an interim government until a new government is selected.

“As with the country’s security forces that we hope will always safeguard the public’s safety, especially during the nomination day, the campaigning period and right up to the polling day.

“Village chiefs, heads of villages, park leaders and residents’ associations should take care of the security of their respective areas so that the electoral process will run in harmony and securely.

“We also need to ensure that our children take care of the well-being of the community and to not be influenced by all forms of provocative matter by any party,” said Abdul Khalid.

Abdul Khalid also thanked the media who have helped him in carrying out his duties by giving him coverage, be in positive or negative, as well as announcements.

“I still hope that the media will give fair and professional reports throughout the campaigning period, right up to the polling days.

“To all voters in Selangor, I hope that they can implement their voting responsibility wisely by choosing a government that prioritises the welfare of the people, is trustworthy, transparent and responsible in ensuring the future of generations to come.

“I also hope that the people in Selangor will continue to give the mandate to Pakatan Rakyat for the continued excellence for the people,” said Abdul Khalid.
