SHAH ALAM, 27 Feb: The Sementa State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Service Centre, in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Sinar Ehsan, will carry out the Selangor Volunteerism Day (SVD) programme at the Al-Ikhlad nursing home in Pulau Meranti, Dangkil, on February 28.
Health Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that the programme aims to help senior citizens who require attention and moral support by approaching and helping them.
According to her, also present for the success of this programme are 20 people from the Community Welfare Department (JKM) and the Selangor Zakat Board.
“Among the activities that will be carried out includes cooking with senior citizens. We will also repair the damaged roof, paint and help clean the housing environment.
“We will also bring student volunteers from KUIS and Unisel to interact with the senior citizens,” she said when contacted by Selangor Kini.
