Sepang challenged, Petaling in second place

SHAH ALAM, 11 Sept: The defending champion, Petaling, began to emerge when they left the bottom spot and moved up to second position yesterday in the medal tally for the Selangor Sports (Sukses) 2015.

Petaling added six gold medals, two silver and three bronze to collect 10 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze to challenge toe leader, Sepang (13 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze), which did not win any medals.

Cycling produced the most medals for the district with three gold, two silver and two bronze, followed by archery (1 gold, 1 bronze) and tenpin bowling (2 gold).

Kuala Selangor fell to third place by adding just one gold medal through cycling, one silver and one bronze through tenpin bowling.

The medal tally is expected to change as several events are being contested today.

Tenpin bowling contested the men’s and women’s masters, 200 metre cycling for men and women.

Sepak takraw continues at the quarter-finals involving Klang A, Klang B, Kuala Selangor A, Sepang A, Sepang B, Petaling A, Kuala Langat B and Gombak B.

Not left behind are the archery and football events to boost competitiveness among all districts in Sukses this time.
