He also consented to grant a trophy for the championship which was initially known as the ‘DYTM Raja Muda Selangor Darul Ehsan Cup Football Festival’.

The first championship was held on July 6, 1988.

Now, the DYTM Raja Muda Selangor Datuk Ehsan Cut Football Festival is an elite championship for the area under the administration of MBPJ.

For this year, 32 schools took part with hopes of winning the DYTM Raja Muda Selangor Cup.
