SHAH ALAM, July 30: The condition of the anti-crime activist, Sri Sanjeevan Ramakrishnan, 29, who was shot last Saturday, is reportedly more stable now but still critical.

In a press statement at 11.20pm yesterday, his father, Ramakrishnan Perianan said that his son, who is also the Chairman of MyWatch, is currently receiving treatment at the Serdang Hospital after being transferred from the Tunku Jaafar Hospital in Negeri Sembilan yesterday.

In addition, his father also wants anyone to not issue any statement about his son without referring to him or the victim’s sister, R Maygala.

“In the past few hours, I have found statement concerning the condition of my son issued by several parties and individuals to the media.

“However, among the statements issued were found to be inaccurate and misleading.

“My family and I are still in a state of shock and sad by what happened to my son and these inaccurate statements issued has made our family more worried and agitated,” the statement said.

Last Saturday, at 4.30pm, the victim was injured at the stomach area after being shot by a pillion rider of a motorcycle when the victim, who was driving a BMW, put down his car window at the junction near Taman Awana Indah, Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.

A few hours before being shot, Sanjeevan wrote on his Twitter that a policeman threatened to give weapons to members of a syndicate to shoot at his home.

The Pandan Member of Parliament, who is also the PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli claimed that the anti-crime activist also planned to reveal a memo allegedly linking members of the police to a drug syndicate.

Rafizi claimed that the victim obtained an internal police memo which listed the police officers charged with the (alleged) investigation on being involved in a drug syndicate.

Rafizi said this in a comment on the 20 minute meeting with Sanjeevan a day before the shooting took place.
