SHAH ALAM, 15 Aug: The Rimau Indah low-cost apartments in Section 32, which was abandoned, was selected to be recovered under the Abandoned Project Rehabilitation Fund (TEPAT).
The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) is identifying buyers, but only 121 of the 315 have been found.
He hopes that buyers that still cannot be can contacted can get in touch with LPHS for further processing.
“The buyers of this project should contact LPHS immediately at 03-5544 7419/7950 extension 117 or 118.
“Buyers need to submit their Purchase Agreement as proof of purchase,” he said in a statement today.
The developer that will rehabilitate the project is Worldwide Holdings Berhad, a subsidiary company of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).
The project started in 2001 and should be completed in 2005, but failed to be completed at around 80 to 90 percent.
At the Selangor State Assembly Budget Session in November, the Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, announced the establishment of TEPAT with a fund of RM20 million.
TEPAT is a state government effort to help people with low-income.
“Without TEPAT, there will not be any developer that will save low-cost abandoned projects such as Rimau Indah because it needs a high boost of funds,” said Iskandar.
Among the other projects that are being saved by TEPAT include Teman Desa Mawar, Kampung Sungai Yu, Kuala Selangor.
