KOTA BHARU, 28 May: The Senior Lecturer at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Dr Zaharuddin Abd Rahman, described the Tabung Haji Board (TH) as a government-linked company (GLC) that cannot be treated with impunity.
He said that the company cannot be exploited because it involves the people’s savings, especially for performing the Hajj.
“The involvement of TH in buying an acre of land at a cost of up to RM188.5 million in Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) is a national issue because it involves money deposited by Muslims.
“TH cannot use the money to buy land owned by 1MDB,” he said, taken from Harakah Daily.
Dr Zaharuddin, who is also the President of Murshid, expressed concern due to the practice of using money belonging to Muslims to save troubled government agencies in the future.
