The Star Lied, Claimed MB Resignation Letter Prepared

SHAH ALAM, 15 Feb: The Star reported that the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) top leadership has prepared Tan Sri Abdul Khalid’s letter of resignation as Chief Minister of Selangor is not true.

Instead, the PKR Vice-President, Tian Chua, deemed it to be a lie and believes that the news is an attempt to cover up MCA’s failure in placing a credible candidate for the Kajang by-election.

Reminding readers that MCA, as the owner of The Star, Tian Chua said that the new MCA President is under pressure to ensure that the seat will not be contested by other BN component parties.

“The signs are clear that MCA has yet to regain its footing and is still considered a ‘sinking political ship’,” he said in a press statement today.

The front page exclusive news alleged that Abdul Khalid refused to sign the resignation letter dated 23 March.

News reports quoting the source said that the refusal would affect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s plan to be the Chief Minister after winning the Kajang by-election.
