TOD Will Minimise the Number of Vehicles on the Road – CM

KAJANG, 15 Feb: The Selangor Government will implement the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan to increase the use of public transport, thus minimising the number of personal vehicles on the road.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the concept has been proven to reduce movement to the city, traffic congestion and air pollution.

He said that the TOD can educate the people to practice healthier lifestyles, rather than using personal vehicles all these while.

For example, the people in Singapore walk more than two miles to obtain transit services. This is indirectly their daily exercise.

“If we so it together, we can save expenses, reduce carbon dioxide in the air and become healthier.

“The only this is that we need to ensure accurate time management and to not burden the people to use public transport,” he said.
