Trauma of Being Robbed by 4 Men, Rodziah Visits Omakkau Blogger

KLANG 13 SEPT: Blogger of Omak Kau, Rohani Abdul Hamid, 44, is still traumatised after being threatened by machetes when her home was robbed by w group of men last week.

She said that the fear that enveloped her during the night when she was alone still affected her despite the fact that the men who robbed her have been arrested by the police yesterday.

“I feel as though as I am being followed. My child who is a 17-year old person with disabilities (PWD) was also traumatised because the incident took place before her eyes,” said the single mother.

The incident received the attention of the Exco in charge of Welfare and Women;s Affairs, Rodziah Ismail, who visited her in an apartment here in Bukit Raja yesterday evening.

Rodziah is worried about what happened to Rohani and her family, and hopes that the police will intensify patrolling so that such incidents do not repeat.

“There should be more robust and focused action by the police to see how such things can be overcome, with the rising percentage of crime every day,” she said.

Also present were representatives of the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) and the Social Welfare Department (JKM) who also gave contributions to ease Rohani’s burdens.

On 6 September,Rohani, who has just returned from a book launch of Ikhwanul Muslimin at a hotel in Shah Alam, was robbed by four men in helmets around 2am.

She was also threatened by machetes and the robbers also acted disrespectfully towards her honour.

She lost over RM5,000 as she was robbed of a variety of valuables including a laptop, a television, her cell phone and jewelry which the robbers took.
