Uptown Section 24 Shah Alam business site ready on May 15

SHAH ALAM, 6 Apr: The redevelopment of the Uptown Section 24 Shah Alam temporary business site will be completed on May 15 after delays due to technical problems.

The Exco for Entrepreneurship Development, Amirudin Shari, said that the consultant appointed by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) recommended to strengthen the site to prevent possible flooding.

“This delay happened because we want space for the opening of a school in January.

“When we started (work) in January, there were technical problems where it was proposed for PKNS to appoint a consultant and improve it for the comfort and safety at the temporary site,” he told Selangor Kini.

It is understood that the state government met with the trader’s association in late February or early March.

Amirudin explained that the state government previously provided assistance, including the MiMBA loan, and he personally went to see the development of the project which experienced a fire in October 2014.

Yesterday, some traders wanted the state government to expedite the construction of temporary tents for them to conduct business.
