Worldwide continues tradition of distributing ‘bubur lambuk’

SHAH ALAM, 10 July: A total of 3,000 containers of bubur lambuk (porridge) was distributed the residents, suraus, mosques, orphanages and Maahad Tahfiz around Shah Alam and Klang through the Cooking Bubur Lambuk programme and the presentation of the Ramadan contribution organised by Worldwide Holdings at its office near Section 7 today.

The annual programme, which is a tradition of Worldwide Holdings, aims to share the company’s profits, in addition to mingling with the community, especially Muslims who are carrying out their fasting.

The Chief Executive Officer of Worldwide Holdings Berhad, Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria, said that the programme is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), in the form of community service, which was planned to distribute the profit received from the community.

“Hopefully, with this programme, greater intimacy will be achieved between the people and it will continue in the future,” she said during the event.

7.2

Apart from giving out bubur lambuk, Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions amounting to RM30,000 was also given to 12 suraus and mosques around the vicinity of project sites being developed by Worldwide Holdings at Section 7 Shah Alam, Subang Bestari, Puncak Alam, Dengkil, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor.

Among other CSR programmes carried out include the poverty eradication programmes, or Worldwide Holdings Concern, like contributing assistance to Muslims in Syria and Palestine, helping in the construction of mosques and suraus for the Muslim community in Cambodia and the Pakistan Flood Disaster Relief Fund.
