PETALING JAYA, 27 May: Starting this week, PKR will begin to file petitions to challenge the results of the 13th General Election (GE-13) results for 29 Parliamentary seats on the discrepancies during the election process.
The petitions will be filed at the High Court according to respective states.
This was according to PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli in his speech in front of nearly 0,000 attendees that flooded the 505 People’s Voice Assembly at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) East Field last Saturday.
Rafizi also retorted the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Election Commission (EC), who according to him were being used by Umno-BN.
“If the people say that there was fraud, they (EC) should say…alright people, we will investigate it as fairly as possible. Is it that hard to say that?
“If they are so addicted to being politicians, resign now, do not be the Deputy Chairman of the EC,” said Rafizi.
Meanwhile, the Co-Chairman of the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH), Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan believes that the failure of the function of the indelible ink was indeed known by the EC before the election took place.
“That is why the EC does not want to hold a demonstration of the indelible ink before the election because they already knew that the ink was not permanent,” said Ambiga.
Pakatan Rakyat believes that the GE-13 which took place in May 5 is the dirtiest in the country’s history.
However, the election results can be challenged by filing a petition or protest against the election process after the declaration of the results by the EC.
The petition has to be filed within 21 days from the day the polling results is declared.
