SUBANG JAYA, June 15: The Sunway Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) developer, Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) should immediately present a pedestrian walkway plan for the residents in PJS 7 and PJS 9.

Subang Jaya Assemblywoman, Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan said that the people involved have waited since last year to see the proposed plan for the pedestrian walkway because they are concerned about the safety aspect.

She said that on 24 November last year, Prasarana held a dialogue with the residents and promised to provide a pedestrian walkway plan to the residents to make the necessary assessment.

“Prasarana promised to give the people a route plan to be evaluated whether it is appropriate or not but to this day, the proposal has yet to be presented to the residents in PJS 9,” she said.

According to Hannah, the residents in PJS 9 are against the proposed route for fear that the route will pass through the back of their housing area.

“I urge Prasarana to immediately present the plan to the residents, whether they want to build a tunnel or otherwise, we do not know because the plan has not been presented yet,” she added.

However, the residents of PJS 7 expressed consent on the proposed pedestrian walkway.

In the meantime, the BRT is a complete rapid transit system which combines other public transportation such as the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Malayan Railway Commuters.

The project will commence in the second quarter of 2013 and is expected to be completed in 2015.

Hannah was met after a gotong-royong programme with the residents of USJ6, Subang Jaya, organised by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) and the Section 17 Fire Brigade, Subang Jaya.
