SHAH ALAM, July 10: The massive “Parish Premier Ramadan” carnival will be held by the Selangor Government starting from 11 July to 5 August with various Ihya’ Ramadhan programmes.
Exco for Islamic Affairs, Agricultural Modernisation and Rural Development, Sallehen Mukhyi said, this programme was created as a breath of fresh air with the theme “My Best Ramadan”.
He said that the carnival will be held at the Stadium Malawati Bazarena Site in Section 13, Shah Alam, with a Ramadan Tazkirah (Reminder) Ceremony which starts at 6.00 pm.
Maghrib, Isha and Taraweeh Salat (prayers) will be led by Imam Hafiz and Muezzin and several other Imams from Syria.
The breaking of fast ceremony and a Moreh feast for 500 people will be held each night.
Every weekend will be filled with Gamitan Syahdu Ramadan programmes featuring Zikir Munajat, Selawat (prayers) and premier lectures by prominent speakers.
A Mega Ramadan Bazaar organised by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will also be held where they would provide sales for the Eid al-Fitr Celebrations.
“The combination of the bazaar is to attract the interest of all citizens of Shah Alam to come to the site.
“In addition to giving a promotional value to the programmes held,” he said during a press conference here at his office.
Sallehen added that the Tazkirah Programme and the Iftar with the youth at the Shah Alam Independence Square will start from 2 to 27 of the Ramadan month, and will begin with a programme with Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid.
“We will reach out to the industrial group with Tazkirah programmes and break-fast together with a congregational Salat (prayers).
“We want to provide awareness to the industrial group to enliven the Ihya Ramadhan in a relaxed way to change the mind-set of the society that ibadah (worship) can only be done in a mosque,” he said.
