SHAH ALAM, July 24: Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim announced that the Hari Raya bonus payment would one month’s salary to all civil servants of the state.
The State Government has allocated RM30 million and 21,776 permanent, contract and temporary staff will receive the bonus, at latest, by the end of this month.
Abdul Khalid said that this bonus would hopefully reduce the burden of staff of the State Government in preparation for the Aidilfitri (Eid Al-Fitr) celebration.
“We hope that civil servants would spend wisely and allocate a portion of this bonus to save for use in the future,” he said.
Abdul Khalid announced this at a press conference after chairing the Exco meeting here at the Selangor State Secretariat Building today.
In the meantime, Abdul Khalid said that if the Federal Government announces a bonus of one and a half month’s salary for its civil servants, the State Government will follow suit.
“If the Federal Government announces a bonus of one and half month’s salary for civil servants, the Selangor Government will add another half month’s salary for civil servants in this state,” he added.
