SHAH ALAM, August 24: The death of former Selangor Exco, Datuk Sanad Said early yesterday morning has been confused by rumours saying that National Laureate, A Samad Said had died instead.

Former Member of the Sementa State Legislative Assembly (Assemblyman) was confirmed dead at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru at 11.30am, and the news was later tweeted by the Selangor Umno Liaison Chairman, Datuk Noh Omar.

However, some facebook and twitter users who spread untrue facts about the Co-Chairman of Bersih 2.0 are believed to be due to confusion.

It was said to have lasted a few hours before an actual confirmation was made and disseminated to correct the facts.

According to the tweet by one his sons, the National Laureate is not only healthy, but had just changed the light bulb at his reading table when the country was busy with the false news.

Members of the public have been asked to be careful and get confirmation from family members before spreading news of death of any individual to avoid any confusion.
