BANDAR SERI PUTRA, SEPT 9: Faekah Hussin remains as Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Selangor until the Chief Minister’s Office restructuring process is completed, said Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Abdul Khalid explained that this restructuring process is comprehensive and also includes specialisation of fields, which according to him is necessary for the workforce and delivery in the CM’s Office to run smoothly, seamlessly and effectively.

“With this, she (Faekah) will remain in the Chief Minister’s Office but we want to organise all tasks so that they do not overlap,” he said in a press conference after officiating the International Convert’s Development Conference at the Selangor International Islamic College University (KUIS) yesterday.

The restructuring, among others, involves the implementation and delivery of programmes under the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) Agenda, the development of affordable housing (RMM), providing assistance to the poor, and rural development.

Previously, the Chief Minister’s Office saw the appointment of Datuk Saifuddin Nasution as the Political Liaison Officer, Mustapa Mohd Talib being assigned to special tasks, and Azman Bidin has been assigned to oversee the Bandar Tun Razak Parliament and the Port Klang State Legislative Assembly.

“We will look into everything and the arrangement will continue. We will assign certain officers to carry out this task,” explained Abdul Khalid.

He said this as there have been rumours that Faekah will be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

Faekah left a very lucrative career in the legal field after being called to serve the Selangor State Government by Abdul Khalid in 2010.

She is mentioned as one of the important individuals in the water negotiations between the Federal Government and the State Government, including the acquisition of the water industry from private concessions.

Elaborating, Abdul Khalid said that any changes will only be announced officially after the restructuring process is completed.

“As usual, it is good that we do not announce the things done but to do it (announce) after seeing the results. If we keep being asked when we are going to do it, we will not be focused,” Abdul Khalid explained.
