PETALING JAYA, 30 Sept: Starting 6 November till 28 December, the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will provide a mobile counter at 18 locations in Petaling Jaya to facilitate the public to make licence payments.

This initiative is an effort by MBPJ to reduce congestion at the headquarters’ counters as well as to provide convenience to the public to make payments at locations near their living area.

“All licence holders may choose to renew their licence for the year 2014 at the mobile counter locations or go to the counters at the MBPJ headquarters during working hours starting from from 7.30am till 5.30pm.

“On 28 and 29 December (Saturday and Sunday), the counter will be open from 9.00am till 4.00pm,” according to the press statement from the MBPK media secretary.

Licensees who have the approval for planning permissions and change the use of their buildings have to submit the renewal of the planning permission 3 months before the expiry date at the MBPJ Department of Planning and Development.

The licensees’ failure to do will cause the inability to renew business licences for 2014.

Meanwhile, all licensees are advised to check their compounds first to avoid problems when payment is being made.

Licensees are also reminded to renew their licence for the year 2014 before the expiration date, which is 31 December 2013, except for dog licence applications which starts from 2 January 2014.

“Upon failure to do so, the Council will charge late fees of RM50 starting from 1 January till 31 March 2014. Meanwhile the late charges of RM250 will be imposed starting from 1 April onward.

“If they still fail to renew their licence for the year 2014, the licence will be cancelled starting from July,” the statement said.
