MBSA Aims for 100 Auxiliary Police Members Next Year

SHAH ALAM, SEPT 8: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will seek approval from the State Government for the establishment of an Auxiliary Police force with 100 members to improve the security level of the city by year 2014.

The Shah Alam Mayor, Datuk Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan said from the amount, 30 members will be placed to control traffic, 30 to guard MBSA assets, and 40 members will be making security patrols with the Police.

“The establishment of this Auxiliary Police force will be included in the MBSA Budget for 2014 so that Shah Alam will become a safer and more comfortable city.

“It is in hope that it will enhance the level of security and comfort of its citizens,” said Mohd Jaafar during the MBSA Clean Zone programme here at the MBSA Volleyball Hall in Section 4.

At the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Deputy Mayor of Shah Alam, Mokhtar Hani, representing MBSA, and the Managing Director of Close Loop, Muhammad Iqbal Baharum, to strengthen recycling activities among the citizens of the city of Shah Alam.

This collaboration focuses on a concerted effort to educate the community in order to make recycling an everyday practice.

The programme was officiated by the Exco for Local Government, Studies and Research, Datuk Teng Chang Khim, and was also attended by the Assemblyman for Kota Anggerik, Dr Yaakob Sapari.

About 1,000 people consisting of MBSA members participated in the gotong royong (mutual cooperation) activity to beautify Section 4.
