Anwar: Uphold Good Values and Tolerance Together

SHAH ALAM, 25 Dec: The Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, urged the people to promote and uphold good values, and to celebrate the various cultures in this country.

“We should promote the good values in the various cultures and harness the strengths in the various communities to achieve a more united and harmonious Malaysia.

“Let us all continue to maintain the tolerance and respect between races and religions as this is the very fabric of our society that needs to be preserved and maintained,” Anwar said in his Christmas Day 2013 message today.

Anwar also celebrated and appreciated the role of Christians in Malaysia, in particular, and all members of society in general who takes the approach of tolerance in facing difference.

Anwar added that Christmas is a time for coming together for families and communities, where previous wrongs are forgiven, old relationships renewed and new ones forged.

“I wish all Christians in Malaysia a Very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year 2014 for all Malaysians,” Anwar said.
