SHAH ALAM, December 9th: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s praise of his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in regards to her noble deeds seem to signify a ‘license’ for Rosmah to continue to use government facilities and funds on a larger scale.
This praise can also be seen to counter the public censure when Rosmah used an executive jet to Qatar recently.
Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said that Umno or its leaders or even its members have acted to criticized Rosmah’s actions in its general assembly (PAU) last week.
However, he said that Umno has long had the habit of flattery which has left such practice to continue.
“This is the problem in Umno – that all its members are flatterers and though this matter is clear, they would prefer to give support when they should be criticising her (Rosmah) during the PAU which makes it problematic to have such leaders and followers.”
“It is not wrong to criticize but to me, this culture will continue if we expect constructive criticism from them and this will never happen because of the political culture in Umno does not allow it,” he explained when contacted by Selangor Kini.
Khalid also says that Najib’s praise in regards to the two deeds of Rosmah’s in handling foreign affair matters seem to imply that the ministers involved need not and had not done any work towards that goal as Rosmah had to intervene on the behalf of those ministers.
“Rosmah’s act in freeing a student from detention by Egyptian authorities is not something the ministers nor embassy could not have done without her intervention.”
“So it must be better for Najib to remove his ministers and replace them with Rosmah as she seems to have supernatural abilities that is outside the abilities of a minister,” he added.
Khalid believes that the praise in defence of Rosmah was actually a jibe at the ministers as itcomments on their incompetency in carrying out their responsibilities.
