SHAH ALAM, Dec 29: The police have been urged to stop interrogating the PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli, and begin investigations on the Umno blogger who allegedly spread defamatory news about the 2014 New Year’s Eve celebration in Dataran Merdeka.
DAP Advisor, Lim Kit Siang, said that the police should work professionally with no obligation to the Barisan Nasional regime in a democratic country.
He said that the police should not stand in the way of Malaysians who want to peacefully demonstrate their objections and opposition to the pile of price hikes whether sugar, petrol, power, toll or house assessments and the long list of other price hikes to come.
“So that Ministers and Barisan Nasional leaders have a proper and correct understanding of the real voices and aspirations of ordinary Malaysians on these issues, ” he said in his press statement.
Meanwhile, Rafizi was called to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters to give his statement regarding the alleged email linking him with a bomb threat on 31 December.
He was accompanied by his lawyer, N.Surendran and Latheefa Koya, and seen entering the grounds of the police station at 11.30 this morning.
Rafizi reiterated his stand that the email was deliberately designed and claimed that it was perpetrated by pro-Umno bloggers.
