Recently, the state government partnered up with Nestle to make Selangor a hub in Central Asia in the agricultural sector.

Sallehen said that choosing Nestle was prompted by the success of the food product company in earning highly despite only working on 10 hectares of land.

He said that only 20 percent is needed to meet the needs of the country, while the rest of Nestle’s yield is exported.

“Nestle’s income is equal to that received from the combined income of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

“So this week, Nestle will launch its working network. For example, if they want chili, the villagers will be involved in cultivating chili. The same goes for the production of other goods.

“So local farmers will not waste even an inch of land own to receive a good yield,” he said in the opening speech of the People’s Carnival at Pantai Kampung Batu Laut yesterday.

In addition, Sallehen informed that the state government has approved the gazetting of about 404 hectares of land in Tanjung Sepat as an agricultural zone.

“It is important to zone the area to ensure that the agricultural area is maintained and the rural community can conduct agricultural activities,” he said.
