The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that this is because the State Government is committed in providing a strong economic core in preparation to face any unexpected situations.

“That is why my key duty is to ensure that Selangor’s assets and revenue is taken care of well because it is not mine, but the people’s trust.

“Now, Alhamdullilah, in a period of less than six years, we have reached a point where we are not afraid of not receiving much revenue for two or three years because we have readied reserves up to RM3 billion.

“Despite having much money, it is also wrong if we do not spend it because this money is not to buy executive committee members nice bags or luxury cars, but for the development of the people, where we will continue to invest for the people,” said Abdul Khalid in the inaugurating speech for the Yayasan Selangor Excellent Service Award Ceremony.

When touching on the role played by Yayasan Selangor, Abdul Khalid said that until now, the foundation has carried out its responsibility excellently by producing a young generation that is useful to religion, race and country.

“Our responsibility increased from two to three hundred students to 1,000, and we have already reached 3,000. Now, our aim is to have 5,000 students produced by Yayasan Selangor,” said Abdul Khalid who is also the Chairman for the Board of Trustees for Yayasan Selangor.
