“Oxford University and Cambridge University are among the academic centres aimed at contributing ideas and intellect. There is no conflict in values.

“Through education, Muslims and non-Muslims can enhance understanding for the sake of humanity as a whole,” Anwar said in a meeting with members of the Oxford and Cambridge Society Malaysia at Bankers Club.

In the dialogue session, Anwar also commented on the experience of Asian countries in dealing with corruption, government administration and democratisation efforts among developing countries.

“Yes, we admit that there are a number of weaknesses, especially in relation to corruption, transparency and government administration compared to the United States and the United Kingdom where institutional transparency and accountability exists and has been strengthened.
