KEIP Hosts Forum to Discuss the Identity of Malaysians from the Perspective of Young People

PETALING JAYA, 14 Jan: The Keadilan Executive Internship Programme (KEIP) will hold a forum entitled ‘Malaysian Perspectives’ to give the young people the opportunity to dialogue about the identity of Malaysians from the perspective of the young people today.

KEIP Coach Representative, Mohamed Aqief, said that the forum will be held at 8.30pm at the Media Hall, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Headquarters and in general, will touch on three main themes that often create stereotypes in society; from the perspective of religion, race and rights as Malaysians.

“Maturity and openness allows us to honestly discuss issues raised recently which have been misused by irresponsible parties for personal and political interests, creating an unhealthy atmosphere, suspicion and uneasiness among the community,” said Mohamed Aqief in a press conference held at the PKR Headquarters today.

Mohamed Aqied said that in the forum, KEIP trainers will personally be panellists and moderators, thus making room fully for them to share experiences and evaluate ideas from perspectives brought up by the young people during the forum.

“KEIP trainers invite the media and the public, especially the young people, to attend the Malaysian Perspectives Forum to dialogue and discuss,” he added.

On 2 December last year, PKR received 20 trainees, consisting of students from diverse backgrounds and skills to be part of the KEIP programme.

The programme was held to provide a wide range of exposure to PKR political work in various aspects, such as duties and responsibilities of Members of Parliament, the role of WHIP, systematic exposure in advocacy and activism, policy making, grassroots movement work, organisational skills, media skills and new media.
