Assessment Tax: MBPJ Urges Property Owner to be Cautious

PETALING JAYA, 14 Feb: All owners of properties that have yet to receive the assessment tax bill from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) have been asked to collect the Assessment Tax Claims Statement for the first half of 2014 from the Treasury Department to facilitate assessment tax transactions.

The MBPJ Public Relations Unit said that the bill has been issued and mailed to property owners.

“Failure to settle all payments of the assessment tax, including any fees as stated above, within 15 days after the end of February or August, according to a case, will result in their properties being seized,” stressed the statement in the MBPJ press statement, citing the Local Government Act 1976.

Payment for warrant of attachment fee is as set by the authorities from time to time and is the cost of the attachment fee.
