Kajang By-Election: Candidates Offer Themselves to Personally Attack Anwar Passionately

SHAH ALAM, 5 Feb: The heat of the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) By-Election is being felt more although Barisan Nasional (BN) has yet to decide on a candidate who will contest against the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on 23 March.

Blogger, Shahbudin Husin, said that while BN has yet to set whether the candidate will come from Umno or MAC to take up the challenge, there have parties emerging who have been deemed to be ‘unbashful’ in offering themselves to represent BN and Independently.

Some of the individuals concerned are; the President of the United Malaysian Indian Party (MUIP), Datuk K S Nallakaruppan and former assistant of Anwar’s counsel, Yuktes Vijay.

He said that basically, the desires of the two individuals is not to win or to be passionately called representatives of the people, but more towards personally attacking and exposing Anwar’s ‘alleged’ evils.

“Nalla is a former close associate of Anwar and his intention to contest is none other than to reveal all of Anwar’s secrets which he claims to know when they were friends.

“His desire to represent BN, which he asked, is being considered, but it looks like he is not at all interested in winning and instead wants the few campaign days to be a platform to expose Anwar’s alleged evils.

“Just like Nalla, Yukets, who wants to contest as an independent candidate, is not participating in the election because he wants to win or to be called a representative of the people, but is merely to attack, reveal flaws and perhaps take revenge against Anwar,” he said.

Shahbudin said that it is not impossible if BN gives the ‘green light’ to Nallakaruppan to contest, and a video allegedly related to Anwar will be a part of the campaign events.

He also cynically described the presence of those who are ‘unbashful’ in offering themselves as candidates as making the Kajang by-election into a day of celebration.

“It is like a day of celebration which can be felt although the fasting month has not arrived,” he said.

The Kajang by-election is set to be the most unique and interesting in history following PKR’s bet of placing Anwar, who is also the Member of Parliament for Permatang Pauh, to be a candidate in the State Legislative Assembly.
