Kajang By-Election: BN Officers Caught Hanging Provocative Banners

KAJANG, 22 Mar: A group of men believed to be officers of the Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery were caught hanging some provocative banners on the opposition party in the Kajang by-election.

The group, who wore caps with the BN logo, using trucks with the BN logo and a photo of the BN candidate, was found at 4.08am in at the main road area of Kampung Baru Sungai Chua.

The PKR Election Deputy Director, Elizabeth Wong, said that the banners were provocative in nature, and also did not have the BN logo, as commonly observed in other provocative attacks.

“This is what we expect from BN. There may be more that will be hung up by tonight.

“We, PKR, did not issue such black propaganda banners such as this,” said Elizabeth in a press conference at the Main PKR Operations Room today.

Meanwhile, the PKR Communications Director, Fahmi Fadzli, said that this action clearly shows the the statement by the Deputy Prime Minister, who claimed that BN will carry out the campaign in a gentlemanly fashion, is a mere hypocritical.

“Tan Sri Muhyiddin said that BN will campaign in a ‘gentlemanly’ fashion, but did otherwise. Stop hypocrisy,” Fahmi said.

Among what was written on the provocative banners was; ‘We have given six years of opportunity. No need to ask for sympathy”, which was trying to portray that the banner was issued by Kajang voters.

Such provocation is considered campaign material that does not comply with the conditions set by the Election Commission (EC).

This issue has already been reported at the nearest police station about 5.00am this morning for further action.
