KAJANG, 3 Mar: The Selangor Government will prepare a special curriculum to guide strata development management bodies towards managing and administering their development so that it is better and more effective.

The Executive Councillor in charge of Housing, Building Management and Urban Settlement, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the curriculum practiced by the Strata Development Curriculum Format (Focus) will be prepared by the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS).

“It is expected that this curriculum will be completed in three months and after that the Building Commissions at Local Authorities (PBT) will organise courses for Joint Management Body and the Management Corporation (MC) based on this curriculum.

“These Local Authorities will organise courses and training at least twice a year in their respective areas,” he said in a statement published to the media at the JCM/MC Premier Assembly and the Selangor Government ‘K-Star’ Apartment Smart Community Award 2013 yesterday.

Iskandar said that he hopes that this integrated curriculum will ensure strata development such as apartments and condominiums to be managed more professionally and to reduce disputes and differences of opinions as well as differences in interpretation among Building Commissions, JMB and MC.

He said that apart from acts on strata development management, the curriculum will also cover titles such as organisational administration, financial management and public relations.
