Students Should Participate in Assembly Against Death Sentence of 529 Egyptians Tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, 27 Mar: The Muslim Students Association of Malaysia (PKPIM) expressed sorrow and disappointment with the decision of the Egyptian Court to sentence 529 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to death for allegedly attacking and killing a policeman.

The President of PKPIM, Muhammad Aliemran Norasid, said that the student association strongly condemned the court’s decision which deliberately denied the rights of the people of Egypt, especially supporters of the former President, Mohammed Morsi.

“Mohammed Morsi was legally elected by the people of Egypt in the Egyptian election in 2011. PKPIM urged all students and student activists, regardless of religion and race, to join in the Assembly Against the Death Sentence of 592 Egyptians on 28 March (tomorrow) at the Egyptian Embassy.

He said that PKPIM will mobilise the whole association to go to the ground to show a sign of protest against the Egyptian court’s decision.

“PKPIM is confident that this effort will foster a spirit of unity between Malaysians and our brothers in Egypt,” he said.
