“This benefit was introduced to Selangor-born children registered as TAWAS members. With this new benefit, if the TAWAS participant dies before reaching the age of 18, his or her parents can claim a benevolent fund worth RM1,500.

“The claim can be made at the YAWAS office by bringing along the death certificate, the Si Manja Card and the TAWAS Savings Statement if any,” he told Selangor Kini today.

Mohd Noor said that the people if Selangor are encouraged to register their children in the TAWAS scheme which enables the children to not be left behind in enjoying various facilities provided by the State Government.

When a new-born child is registered in the TAWAS Scheme, they will be awarded a RM100 savings fund and at 18 years of age, the participant has the opportunity to receive RM1,500 each as a result of investment in TAWAS.
