SAMM Did Not Quarrel with the PAS Unit Amal

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 May: Malaysian Youth Solidarity (SAMM) denied the news spread on social networking sites that its members were involved in a quarrel with the PAS Unit Amal during the May 1 Assembly yesterday.

The Kelantan SAMM Coordinator, Haji Osama, said that the presence of SAMM members who wore black was identical to an unknown group that used the same coloured shirts and this which might have caused confusion.

“Citing a number of online statements on a quarrel between SAMM and the PAS Unit Amal today (yesterday), I want to point out that it was not SAMM that had a quarrel with the PAS Unit Amal.

“Perhaps SAMM happened to be at the place and a similar situation took place, involving the group that was also in black,” he said in a press statement.

Osama said that the march for the SAMM group started off well from KLCC to Dataran Merdeka, while vehicles owned by SAMM activists were parked at designated areas.

He said that SAMM appreciates and applauds the work by the Unit Amal, which helped in the smooth running of yesterday’s rally.

“I urge all parties who are playing this sentiment to stop it immediately because SAMM with PAS and the Unit Amal often work together in all programmes to overthrow the evil government today,” he said.

Osama said that as a non-governmental organisation that is not partisan in nature, many SAMM members also participate in PAS.
