Terengganu political crisis, state PAS will hold a special meeting

SHAH ALAM, 13 May: The Terengganu PAS Liaison Body is holding a special meeting regarding the current political crisis.

Terengganu PAS Commissioner, Satiful Bahri Mamat, in a press statement, said that PAS leaders hope that everyone remains calm and patient.

“Insya Allah, in the interest of the people, we will make the best decision to solve this crisis.

“From time to time, Terengganu PAS will notify the media, through the official media, to avoid any rumour or statement that is different from the decision of the leaders.

“Terengganu PAS leaders will review what happened from the beginning and the action to be taken,” he said.

Yesterday, the former Chief Minister of Terengganu, who is also the Assemblyman for Kijal, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, and the Assemblyman for Ajil, Ghazali Taib, declared that they were quitting Umno to become independent representatives of the people.

Ahmad resigned as the Terengganu Chief Minister soon after his successor, Datuk Ahmad Razif Rahman, was sworn in to office in front of the Terengganu Sultan, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, at Istana Syarqiyyah in Kuala Terengganu.
