CM: Threat to ‘behead’, Perkasa’s move tarnishes the image of Islam

SHAH ALAM, 24 June: The Selangor Government is deplored by the thread to ‘behead’ made by the Malay supremacist group, Perkasa, as it only adversely impacts the harmony between the diverse races and religions in the country.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the threat made by Perkasa is not beneficial, and in fact, it gives a negative perception of Islam, which emphasises brotherhood, justice, harmony, mutual respect and prudence.

“We are of the opinion that such statements merely reflect an uncivilised mindset and needs to be rejected by all Malaysians, especially Muslims,” said Abdul Khalid in a press statement.

He said that the Selangor Government urges everyone to stop taking advantage of the Bible issue for political or self-interest.

“And respect the Sultan of Selangor’s royal decree for this case to be submitted to the court,” said Abdul Khalid.
