“Fourteen days after the arrest, the case should have been forwarded to the attorney general to press charges. But today is the 14th day, and no action seems to have taken place,” he said, quoted from Malaysia Kini.

On May 26, the police arrested six Umno Youth leaders in relation to a violent demonstration carried out previously and participants also threatened to burn down the DAP headquarters.

Those arrested include Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii, Cheras Umno Youth chief Johari Yazid, Federal Territories Umno information chief Ghulam Muzaffar and Bandar Tun Razak Umno Youth chief Rizalman Mokhtar.

They were released later after their statements were recorded. The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

Meanwhile, Lim claimed that the police had also breached the SOP by failing to call witnesses to identify the suspects.

“Therefore, DAP believes there might be intervention from higher authorities,” he said.
