SHAH ALAM, 7 July: The National News agency, Bernama, through the Twitter micro site, informed that they have detected that someone has used their name to spread fake news regarding the resignation of the Selangor Chief Minister.

Today, several news agencies were confused regarding the spread of a fake SMS, through the Whatsapp application, using Bernama’s name.

The false message was denied by the Selangor Chief Minister’s Press Office Secretary.

Since Sunday night, the Whatsapp system of media practitioners was filled with false information saying that Abdul Khalid will supposedly face the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, to submit his letter of resignation.

As an effect of the dissemination of this news, journalists gathered in front of Istana Mestika, Shah Alam, and Istana Shah Alam today because of the spread of rumours that Abdul Khalid will resign.
